Agra — Grasscloth

Some patterns carry a journey in them.

Agra was inspired by the intricate floral inlays of the Taj Mahal, that particular meeting of geometry and bloom that India does like nowhere else on earth. On grasscloth, something extraordinary happens to it. The natural fibres give the pattern a texture and warmth that feels almost woven, almost ancient. The aqua shifts through the day as the light changes, never quite the same twice.

Elegant without being formal.

The pattern is the set. Your room is the stage.

Minimum order 5 metres. For other quantities email the studio at studio@annikareed.com

STORY BEHIND AGRA

During my travels through India, I fell deeply in love with Rajasthan, the birthplace of block printing. It was there I also found myself mesmerised by the majestic beauty of the Taj Mahal in Agra. Inspired by the intricate inlay work on the cenotaphs of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, our 'Agra' wallpaper blends this ancient craftsmanship with the rich narratives encased within the monument.

The symmetrical floral patterns not only reflect the grand architecture of the Taj but also echo the timeless love story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, making each design a tribute to eternal devotion.
