Backgammon 100% Irish Linen

Backgammon is made up of long, tapering shapes arranged in an easy, repeating rhythm, taking its lead from the board itself. Drawn by hand and printed from woodcut blocks, the lines aren’t quite straight and the spacing isn’t exact small quirks that give the pattern its character.

Backgammon sits within the Games collection fabrics based on familiar pastimes, reworked into pattern. The designs keep a lightness to them, borrowing the pleasure of play rather than spelling it out. They’re recognisable, but not literal.

Designed to work either on its own or alongside our wallpapers, Backgammon suits curtains, blinds and upholstery. It brings order with a little looseness — a pattern that feels considered, but not overly serious.

STORY BEHIND BACKGAMMON

Part of Annika Reed Studio’s Games collection, Games explores the idea of play, learned or invented, structured or free, passed from one person to another. Some games feel familiar, others less so, yet all share a gentle rhythm of turns, focus, and trying again.

Each pattern turns that sense of order and chance into cloth: repeats, shifts, and balanced compositions. Nostalgic but not time bound, the collection feels playful, grounded, and easy to live with at home.
