Carve and print your own fabric and turn it into a beautiful pair of cushions with artist and educator Annika Reed – designed to be enjoyed by beginners and experienced makers alike.
Put technology on pause and learn the ancient art of block printing. Annika will demonstrate how to make a repeat pattern and turn it into a block and together we will go through each stage of the block printing process. Then it’s your turn as you carve your own linoleum block and print a length of natural linen and explore and develop your own pattern repeat. Then watch how to turn your printed fabric into a beautiful cushion to adorn your home.
This workshop provides a creative approach to pattern and includes all materials. It is advisable to bring a sketchbook of design ideas or drawings although not essential. Wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting messy (an apron is great)
Food is available on site or you can bring a packed lunch.
