STORY BEHIND STOW AWAY WITH THE SAILORS

Part of Annika Reed Studio’s Upstairs Downstairs collection, Stow Away with the Sailors belongs to the Upstairs chapter four adventure filled designs created for rooms where imagination leads the way. It celebrates the spirit of the sea and the stories it carries, pairing quiet detail with playful energy for a design that sets sail beyond the everyday.

This design celebrates the spirit of adventure and the rhythm of the sea. Inspired by my own family’s roots in fishing, and the sea shanties that filled our home, it’s a pattern that honours storytelling, song, and the quiet magic of maritime life.

Hand carved in my Somerset studio using traditional woodblock techniques, it’s the visual soundtrack to your home, it can be a journey, a memory, a world waiting to unfold.
