Ten of my best-loved designs are now available on grasscloth wallpaper. And if you already know these patterns, I think you're going to find this interesting.

Why grasscloth wallpaper? Because texture is part of the story.
My wallpapers have always been printed on non-woven paper which is a brilliant substrate. Stable, clean, forgiving to hang. But there's something a natural fibre wall does that a flat surface simply can't: it catches light.
The weave creates tiny shadows that shift through the day. The surface feels alive in a way you notice without being able to explain.
I've had a 100% linen fabric range for a while, and working with natural fibres changed how I thought about what these designs could be. The irregularity of linen, the slight variation, the warmth; it all suits hand-carved work in a way that feels almost obvious in retrospect. Woodblock printing is irregular too. The two things belong together.
Grasscloth wallpaper felt like the natural next step.
What happens to the designs on grasscloth
The worlds inside these patterns don't disappear on grasscloth wallpaper. They deepen.
When a hand-carved design lands on a natural fibre substrate, it doesn't sit on top of the surface, it sits within it. The texture reads through the print. The weave becomes part of the pattern. Everything gets a bit warmer, a bit less predictable, a bit more like something made by hand, which is exactly what it is.
Run Away to the Circus on grasscloth wallpaper is something else. On non-woven it's bold and full of movement. On grasscloth it's both of those things, but it also feels genuinely handmade in a way that's hard to fake - because it is. The irregularity of the weave and the irregularity of the woodblock belong together. The Parade designs are the same story.
These aren't designs that lose anything in the move. They gain another dimension.

The feeling a natural fibre wall creates
There's something that happens when a pattern goes on a wall. The room becomes more itself; more particular, more alive. With grasscloth wallpaper, that effect is amplified.
You're not just looking at a pattern. You're looking at a pattern through a surface that has its own character, its own grain, its own response to the light coming through the window at four o'clock.
The rooms that stay with you are rarely the ones with the most expensive furniture. They're the ones where everything has been considered, where the surfaces feel like they were chosen, not just covered. Natural fibre wallpaper does that. These designs on grasscloth do it more.
A few honest things about natural fibre wallpaper
Grasscloth wallpaper is a natural product, so there will be variation between rolls. The weave won't be perfectly uniform. It will look different in morning light than it does by lamplight.
This is the point. No manufactured material can replicate it and once you've lived with it, you'll understand why people keep coming back to textured wallpaper. It's one of those surfaces that gets better over time; the fibres settle, the room settles with it.
I'd always recommend a professional installer for natural fibre wall coverings. The process is a little different to hanging non-woven, and it's worth doing properly. We're happy to advise on prep, lining, and care - just get in touch before you start.
Pairing grasscloth wallpaper with the linen fabric
If you already have an Annika Reed Studio fabric in a room and you've been thinking about the wallpaper, the grasscloth version is something worth considering.
Same design, two different surfaces, the hand printed wallpaper on the wall, the print on the curtain or the upholstery and the contrast between them adds a layer that a flat wallpaper and linen combination doesn't quite achieve. Two natural surfaces, the same hand behind both of them.
Made to order, as always
All ten designs are available on grasscloth wallpaper in their existing colourways. And as with everything at Annika Reed Studio, bespoke colourways and scales are available to order. The world inside the design is already particular. In your hands, in your room, it becomes singular.
Samples are available now. Natural materials are worth seeing in your own light before you commit; the way grasscloth wallpaper reads in a north-facing room is different to a south-facing one, and it's worth knowing that before you order.
