Yes you can.

Love the design but not in keeping with your interior colour scheme? We can print any design in any colour and repeat size. I’m only an email away, so drop me a line and we can talk about your interior dreams. hello@annikareed.com

All my designs begin with a sketchbook and pen. Refining then hand drawing the images onto a piece of Asian wood, where I carve them according to the age-old practices I learned whilst doing a residency at the University of Shanghai in China, in 2006.

While in China I worked alongside masters in woodblock printing and developed my unique style.

Traditional woodcuts are printed from separate blocks, one created for each colour. I work differently, carving away each colour, one at a time, and use the same block to print all the layers of my designs.

It takes at least a month to complete a full series of carvings and colour layers. If I make a mistake, I can’t know it until the end of the process. If I make a mistake, I’ve lost a month and have to start from scratch -- so chance plays a big role in the final outcome.

This process of wood carving and painting in layers produces uniquely rich, layered, painterly prints.

I print all designs by hand in my studio in Somerset using non-toxic techniques. Ink is rolled onto the wood and printed over the previous layer. Some designs only need one colour, others require several.

Once I'm happy with the block and repeat, they are scanned and manufactured in the UK as wallpaper and fabrics.

NON-WOVEN WALL-COVERING HANGING INSTRUCTIONS

We advise that a professional be used when hanging non-woven wallpaper. The instructions can be found below:

Preparation

Walls should be dry, clean, and even.

Remove any old wallpaper and loose paint.

Roughen painted surfaces with sandpaper.

For best results, walls should be cross lined using a good quality lining paper. Sizing the lining paper will aid adhesion. Lining should be allowed to dry out completely before hanging the wall covering.

PASTING AND HANGING YOUR NON-WOVEN WALL COVERINGS

This is a paste the wall product. The decorator should paste the wall and not the back of the wall covering.

A good quality, solvent free, fungicide protected ready-mixed ‘tub’ adhesive – specifically for paste the wall non-woven papers should be used.

Paste should be evenly applied to the wall to hang one length at a time, to an area slightly wider than width of the paper.

Butt joints and use a decorator’s brush to smooth down the wall covering, working from the centre to the edges to express air bubbles.

Avoid squeezing paste out of the joints and ensure paste does not get onto the brush or roller.

No paste should be allowed to come into contact with the surface and hands should be kept clean and dry whilst hanging the wall covering.

Paste will damage the surface. The company cannot accept responsibility for marks or damage caused by paste.

Should any paste have been allowed to come into contact with the surface, it should be lightly sponged whilst still moist, using a clean damp sponge.

I recommend a premium quality tub adhesive, or an equivalent good quality pH neutral, solvent-free, fungicide protected, light grade adhesive. I'd advise against a self-mix adhesives as they have a higher water content.
