STORY BEHIND A JACKDAW AND PEACOCK FEATHERS
The Peacock is inspired by the Aesop fable, A Jackdaw and Peacock Feathers. Written by a Greek slave in the late to mid-6th century BCE, Aesop's Fables are the world's best known collection of morality tales. The main characters in these stories are often animals, and each fable serves to teach us a moral lesson. I designed this wallpaper to symbolise the fable’s moral lesson “A fine bird is more than fine feathers.” The illustration of the two birds is innocent, however, the meaning is complex and will provoke debate in any room it's featured in; whether that’s a children’s bedroom or a sophisticated living space. Read the fable here.
